Because we are enthusiastic about what we do, we always strive to ensure the engines we build are the very best. Our designs are scaled down from original drawings, rather than scaled up from smaller models. As a result the finished engines have good proportions and have real presence on the show ground. We concentrate on quality workmanship, attention to detail and finish, leading to great ownership experience.

 

So why do we think 6inch scale models are worth pursuing? Well, it literally comes down to scale! The full size machine is an awesome thing, imposing and powerful – a true example of the great Victorian era. But just as they are great, so are their requirements for storage, transport and maintenance. They need their own shed (or live outside), must be transported on a low loader and can be very expensive to maintain.

 

On the other hand, the 6 inch model offers the owner a genuine steam experience with less hassle. The engine fits in a standard garage, can be transported on a twin axle trailer behind a large car and has very reasonable maintenance costs. On the show ground they are driven from the footplate, not from a trailer towed behind, sound and look great and have real pulling power (just check out the 'Complete Model' video)!

 

And of course they are a valuable investment, much respected and sought after. 

 

We're so confident that our engines fit the bill that we offer several different configurations of the double crank compound road locomotive.  We also offer a single cylinder agricultural traction engine, both in finished form and as a knock down kit. The kit comes fully machined and simply requires painting and assembly.
